Pinnal margin ulceration in an imported, three year old Crossbreed. Thorough investigations throughout the prior fourteen months had failed to provide a definitive diagnosis. All the claws had malodourous, haemorrhagic, purulent discharge, caused by secondary bacterial invasion. A tissue PCR test proved the primary infection was due to this exotic protozoal disease. Treatment was instituted hurriedly to avert the serious internal organ damage form the generalising infection
