The medications (drug or biologic) may be anti-inflammatory by controlling inflammation per se, preventing self-trauma or tackling the allergy at its source.

The latter action is only possible with #7 (allergen-specific immunotherapy – ASIT) – aeroallergen avoidance measures are seldom clinically beneficial.

The cost of all the above medications, except #7 (ASIT), increase with increasing bodyweight – therefore #7 (ASIT) becomes more & more cost effective with increasing bodyweight.

In the UK, #1 (PEA) is available online (only), without a prescription & all other oral ‘moderate/expensive’ cost medications will be considerably cheaper,

if bought online, even with the added cost of a 6-monthly prescription from your Vet.
