Intradermal testing protocol

For confirmed cases of Atopic dermatitis, intradermal testing is available prior to formulating allergen specific immunotherapy, alongside specific allergen avoidance measures where possible.

• Sedation will be required and therefore starvation is a prerequisite, minimum twelve hours please.

• For two weeks prior please avoid antihistamines, essential fatty acid supplements and non-steroidal antiinflammatory drugs.

• For four weeks prior please avoid oral glucocorticoids (prednisolone, methyl-prednisolone) and ideally topical, including aural, glucocorticoids.

• For a minimum of eight weeks prior please avoid injectable depot glucocorticoids and progestagens.
